Self-defense instructor Scott Hughes has dedicated his life to keeping people safe. Hughes said he was almost killed in an attempted carjacking when he was 17.
“Guy came running over to the passenger side, lit my friend up with brass knuckles in the face,” Hughes said. “At that point, I realized I was shot in the arm and that was it never again I’m never going to be a victim (and that’s what started my journey on being hard to kill.”
Hughes said to cut your chances of becoming a victim, certain skills need to be learned and practiced.
Hughes said to not forget the basics and provided the following tips…
“First tip put your cell phones away do not walk out that door getting ready to get in your car looking at your phone. If you have air pods in take them out,” Hughes said.
