Join us every Tuesday & Thursday evening as we learn the amazing & versatile art of Filipino Kali. Our current curriculum is Panantukan.
Panantukan is a Filipino martial art that focuses on empty-hand techniques, often referred to as "Filipino boxing.” or “Dirty Boxing”. It emphasizes striking, including punches, elbows, knees, and open-hand techniques, and incorporates elements of footwork, grappling, and self-defense.
Panantukan is often practiced alongside other Filipino martial arts, such as Eskrima (stick fighting) and Kali, which involve weapons training. The art is known for its fluidity and adaptability, allowing practitioners to respond effectively to various combat situations. It is also characterized by its emphasis on practicality and “real-world” application, making it a popular choice for self-defense training.
In addition to physical techniques, Panantukan also teaches principles of timing, distance, and movement, which are essential for effective striking and defense.
Also known as- Suntukan or Pangamot.
